You can use the Risk Assessment Decision Tool to help you evaluate if there are any additional risks to physical safety, wellbeing, and data security that must be considered. The decision tool is provided for guidance only — please use your judgment. You should complete the following pages to show how you have considered and mitigated those additional risks. If there are no additional risks, you should sign below to confirm this.
The assessment may be conducted by any competent member of the team, however the person supervising or directing the activity is ultimately responsible and should sign below. The law does not expect us to eliminate all risks, but to protect people as far as is reasonably practicable. Read SCP18 - Risk Assessment to learn more about when and how to conduct a risk assessment. Your Risk Assessment does not need to include every detail, and you can refer to your own protocol, or refer to LJMU policies and guidance wherever necessary. It is however key that you follow the risk mitigation procedures you have identified and regularly review both the procedures, and adherence to them.
NB: First-aiders will be available during standard working hours. LJMU Emergency Services can be contacted via ext. 2222. All Incidents must be reported & logged with H&S Officer.
